Over Stay Fine Removal

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has specific laws and regulations regarding overstaying visas. Overstaying your visa in the UAE can result in fines, potential deportation, and even a ban on re-entering the country for a certain period.

As of my last update in January 2023, here’s a general overview of the process for handling overstay fines in the UAE:

Over Stay Fine Removal

  1. Fines and Penalties: Overstaying your visa in the UAE incurs fines that accumulate for each day you stay beyond your visa expiration date. These fines can increase the longer you overstay.
  2. Resolving the Overstay: To resolve the overstay and fines:
    • Visit the immigration department or relevant authorities (such as the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs) in the respective emirate.
    • Pay the accrued fines for the overstay.
    • Follow any additional instructions provided by the authorities.
  3. Leaving the Country: Once the fines are paid and the overstay issue is resolved, you are usually required to exit the country promptly. Failure to do so may result in further penalties or legal actions.
  4. Future Entry: Depending on the duration and circumstances of the overstay, individuals might face a re-entry ban into the UAE. This ban can vary in duration, from six months to several years or more, depending on the severity of the violation.

Please note that immigration laws and procedures can change, and it’s essential to contact the relevant authorities or consult with a legal NA-experienced in UAE immigration laws for the most current and accurate information regarding overstay fines and their removal process. Additionally, being proactive and addressing the overstay issue as soon as possible is advisable to minimize potential repercussions.
